MAMTA
Mamta Baruah Herland is a painter and a digital artist born in North Eastern valley of Assam in India and living in Norway since 1987. Her works have been widely exhibited internationally and represented in private, public and corporate collections. Her acrylic paintings are a combination of naturalistic and abstract expression, created by various techniques. In addition to her paintings the artist also practices a range of mediums from the numerous disciplines of photography, digital printmaking and video. She employs technology as her collaborator and combines with her artistic endeavor to create images that refers to the blurred boundaries of rationality and magic, reality and dream, and highlights the move from the old logic of rationality to a utopian dream society. She allows her artwork to expand in different possible artistic dimensions and genre that future combine the aesthetic of technology with a sense of spirituality and transcendental emotion. By employing digital techniques her intent is for the artworks to evoke a sense of captivation and mysticism.
